from nodeconfbr.

paulohp avatar paulohp commented on July 30, 2024

othiym23 avatar othiym23 commented on July 30, 2024

I have never been to Brazil and would love to see it, and am happy to come speak! But I agree with @abernardobr that there's a lot of fantastic homegrown Node talent in Brazil that's worth prioritizing over the same crowd of non-Brazilian Node people who seem to end up at all these conferences. Also there are a lot of great Node developers from Colombia, Argentina, and elsewhere in South America as well (@julianduque and @guille come to mind). Part of what made CascadiaJS so great was how many of the speakers actually came from that region of the United States and Canada.

(Also I apologize for replying in English – I don't know Portugese and using Google Translate on my own post would probably just be embarrassing for all of us.)

abernardobr avatar abernardobr commented on July 30, 2024

@othiym23 google translated well!! :=) Indeed, I think it is good to show what Brazilians are doing and it is also great to show to people like you and others that can share what we are doing with other communities. At the end of the day it is all just about sharing what we are doing, learn from what each other are doing, grow as developers and make the community stronger. If we can do it having fun and getting to know cool people... The merrier!!!!

Forrest L Norvell (@othiym23) - San Franscisco - USA
Eram Hammer (@hueniverse) - Los Gatos - USA
Fedor Indutny (@indutny) - Russia

@julianduque Is highly recommended as well!!! (right back to you buddy)... Julian has helped Intuit along with NodeSource to improve our Production environments. I definitely would love to be present. I'm interested in focusing on Node.js Micro-services in Docker, among the other topics I listed in the Portuguese list.
