There isn't at the moment. You'd have to write a function that returns an empty Configuration if the file or resource is not there.

Resources are compiled into the application, so trying to load a nonexistent resource means the software has been improperly built. But a function that defaults to empty properties if a config file is not there would make sense.

I had a similar use case, because I want to provide a config file in the user.dir only if the defaults won't fit. So this issue is probably solved with #20.

This would have to be implemented differently for each source of configuration. But Konfig now provides an EmptyConfiguration object which can be used in the else branch of a conditional expression that tests for the existence of a configuration source.

E.g. for a (fictitious) example configuration implementation:
