@JThramer Notice that two of the articles you're citing are from 2008/2009, and that the comment thread in QualityCoding's article offers strong counter-points to his claims. Passionate arguments against dot notation have all but fizzled out. What started as an understandable concern about Objective-C changing for the worse turned into a general consensus that dot notation is a better way to set and get properties—even with a potential for confusion around structs (which is, in practice, relatively uncommon).
