@paramazo, what do you mean by "magic" ?

from ocsinventory-server.

charleneauger avatar charleneauger commented on June 7, 2024

Hi @paramazo ,

If you want to install the master version of the server, you must clone the OCSInventory-ocsreports repo into the server folder and rename it ocsreports.

Else, donwload the latest release at this following link : https://github.com/OCSInventory-NG/OCSInventory-ocsreports/releases/tag/2.11.1

Best regards,
Charlene Auger

from ocsinventory-server.

paramazo avatar paramazo commented on June 7, 2024

this does not work, even all the files are there after git clone and copied them to the path mentioned in the logs:

/usr/share/ocsinventory-reports/ocsreports$ ls
ajax composer.json css files ipdiscover-util.pl plugins themes
ajax.php config dbconfig.inc.php image js README.md tools
backend Contributors extensions index.php libraries require update.php
Changes crontab favicon.ico install.php LICENSE templates var.php

i still get the same errors. I already tried to checkout the latest release 2.8.1 and tried again, but it results the same.

@paramazo ,

If you want to install OCS, you must go through the following release archive https://github.com/OCSInventory-NG/OCSInventory-ocsreports/releases/download/2.11.1/OCSNG_UNIX_SERVER-2.11.1.tar.gz and follow the installation documentation : http://wiki.ocsinventory-ng.org/03.Basic-documentation/Setting-up-a-OCS-Inventory-Server/

Regards,
Charlene

I did all the steps and the setup routine comes to this point after resolving all the other dependencies as described.

This setup routine does work. so iam on the wrong repo here? its a bit confusing why there is a newer release in another repository. The latest release tag in this repo is 2.8.1 and not 2.11.1

The OCSInventory-Server repository is released with the OCSInventory-Reports repository.
I understand it's a bit confusing.

After setup succeeds, iam still missing the OCS running on my apache2

The requested URL was not found on this server.

It seems i need some more configurations to make it work

You should enable the ocsinventory-reports.conf file in /etc/apache2/conf-available

from ocsinventory-server.

charleneauger avatar charleneauger commented on June 7, 2024

And for the server, edit /etc/apache2/conf-available/z-ocsinventory-server.conf (and /etc/apache2/conf-available/zz-ocsinventory-restapi.conf if you will use API feature) and set your database connection information :

  PerlSetEnv OCS_DB_HOST localhost
  # Replace 3306 by port where running MySQL server, generally 3306
  PerlSetEnv OCS_DB_PORT 3306
  # Name of database
  PerlSetEnv OCS_DB_NAME ocsweb
  PerlSetEnv OCS_DB_LOCAL ocsweb
  # User allowed to connect to database
  PerlSetEnv OCS_DB_USER ocs
  # Password for user
  PerlSetVar OCS_DB_PWD ocs

Enable the conf file(s) and restart apache

from ocsinventory-server.

Enabled the ocsinventory-reports.conf with a2enconf. Created the mysql database and grant privileges to user and updated the z-ocsinventory-server.conf file. Restarted apache2 but magic is still missing.
