Sorry, but it looks to me like the api doc call you listed is for this:
http://developer.github.com/v3/oauth/#get-a-single-authorization

When I was looking for this:
http://developer.github.com/v3/oauth/#check-an-authorization

They take different params and allow a check for a 3rd party with an auth token versus just accessing as a basic auth user (different use cases).
