对于数据库系统，在特定硬件环境和业务负载下，性能瓶颈到底在何处？若想优化当前最大的性能瓶颈，它到底是一个工程问题还是学术问题？如果是工程问题，需要投入多少资源去完成？会有多少收益？如果是学术问题，它的 trade-off 到底是什么？有什么更符合当前业务场景的可能性吗？

我有一个疑问：工程问题和学术问题的区别是什么，有什么具体例子吗？我的理解：工程问题是知道大体解决方法，难点在于实现上，需要投入精力，需要考虑的是值不值得去实现；学术问题是指目前没有什么好的解决方案，我们需要去做trade-off提出一个新的方案。不知道是不是这个意思
