arm64 OpenSSL build error on SDK 7.1 about onionbrowser HOT 1 CLOSED

Below is the response I got from Apple. I'm going to try to fix the build script based on their response. Looks like just an outdated version of ranlib.

Engineering has requested the following:

Pretty sure you should not be using ranlib(1) from:

/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/usr/bin/ranlib

as that is likely old and what is causing problems. That is a symbolic link to libtool(1) in the same directory. So to get the version you can do:

strings /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/usr/bin/ | grep cctools

But should be using ranlib(1) from under here:

/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains

likely in the iOS7.1.xctoolchain or even XcodeDefault.xctoolchain then under usr/bin/ranlib.

I suggest you compare the cctools version of the libtool(1) under those directories with the one in .../Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/...

Looking at your build script the error might be here:

export PATH="${DEVELOPER}/Platforms/${PLATFORM}.platform/Developer/usr/bin/:${DEVELOPER}/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xct<200c><200b>oolchain/usr/bin:${DEVELOPER}/usr/bin:${ORIGINALPATH}"

as that first path in PATH seems wrong.
