no. Just not very active these days. OWA not longer plots visitors on a google map. It used to at one point but the feature was removed a long time ago.

I guess a table or list with the country name and numbers will be as effective as a map in grouping client groups?

Agreed. There are Country, City dimensions for that.

OWA is written entirely in PHP and JavaScript.
