It seems that this error is still present. It might be my hardware also one of the problems but I think someone else should also try to reproduce this:

1. create fresh installation on USB
2. boot to OpenElec.tv
3. power off the computer (not by shutdown but with holding power button or simmilar)

Unfortunatelly I'm currently not able to rebuild. I was building inside Ubuntu Maverick chroot as there were problems with Natty.

Hi there,

current Fusion master of OE corrupted my HFS+ on USB-device last week. The computer crashed and the filesystem had errors. I think the problem still exists ... :-(

I'm experiencing corrupt files to. Basically sometimes after seeing a video file, it corrupts a file (in the same location). I'm using "stable (1.0) - 1.0.2 ION i386" on my Acer Revo. Another thing to note is that the files are in a NTFS USB Drive.

I'm running OpenElec from a USB stick, with a Zotac Nano AD 10 Plus machine. I experience random freezes while (just navigating the menu system, using plugins like grooveshark and while watching movies) so I've had to manually restart the machine often. The last time I did this it corrupted the USB stick so that now it will not even boot up any more. I'm not sure if the freezes are a symptom of hardware or software but the corrupted USB stick might apply to this thread? Just an FYI if it is ;)
