Thanks for the response. I haven't played around with it much myself, so I can't judge just how helpful these resources are, but hopefully they help somehow. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do.

Hmm...looking at this again, I'm guessing this is what you actually want: http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/dvbhdhomerun/

Any update on this by any chance? No hurry...just wondering if it even looks possible to you. Thanks for your time...and for such great software.

I posted this in the forums a few months ago, never heard anything on it. Lots of DVB firmware being added but nothing for HDHOMERUN support yet...sucks because I got one too, and although mine is ATSC, I'm hoping maybe the DVB driver might work

I have used Tvheadend with HDHomeRun using the dvb_hdhomerun driver under XBMC Live, and it works great. It would be great to see this included in OpenELEC as the HDHomeRun is very popular with XBMC users and supported by XBMC, but it would be much better to use it via Tvheadend to gain PVR functionality and also avoid having to create strm files for each channels. You also get the current program information for each channel when using the HTSP protocol, even without using the XBMC-PVR branch.

Promising work on this so far, Just wish it worked for ATSC feeds for us here in North America :)

evanrich, and what exactly is the problem? Maybe you just need to set tuner type in config and it should work.

evanrich avatar evanrich commented on July 29, 2024

vpeter, not really sure if theres a problem, as I haven't tried this yet. I was going off the original discussion in the HDHomerun forums that said the original patch worked only with non ATSC devices. If this works for ATSC boxes as well then fantastic. Sorry for not clarifying

I'd like to see HDHomeRun support for the HDHR3-CC device. It is a cable hard device.

evanrich, as you can read here you see that ATSC works. http://openelec.tv/forum/19-feature-suggestions/1634-feature-request-hdhomerun-dvb-support?limit=20&start=120#25084 mezzrricki, doesn't all devices use same driver?

Please don't give up on making this an add-on on the repo. I installed the zip version a while ago and it works good for me. I wish I could help you finish this but about the only thing I am good for is testing.

The drivers them selves did appear to work, I think my problems have more to do with myth and tvheadend. Thank you.
