I use Visual Paradigm because we already have a floating license @ StoneOne. Evaluated a few tools and VP turned out as a good choice.
The community edition of VP won't be a good choice! Just one reason amongst others: every image you export gets a watermark - not so nice imho! And not very practical if we want to use the diagrams' images for documentation purposes...
One floating license for the VP Modeler Edition costs 129 €. Additionally you can init a VPository instance incl. 1 GB storage. VPository acts (i) as a repository for the (your/our?) projects and (ii) as a floating license server. The Vpository instance is for free, the only restriction is that you have to commit to the repository at least once every three months... (You get notices if you didn't, early enough!)
Is it maybe an option to buy one or two floating licenses for the OIH project and init a VPository instance? This way we can share the licenses and the benefit would be that the necessary projects would be under control of the OIH, too (in an OIH-VPository instance)...
Just an idea. Any other proposals (MagicDraw, Enterprise Architect, ...) are welcome to be discussed!

Regarding to the recent email (12th Dec '17 - 12:41) from @JosefBraeuer, @lashauer is using 'Visual Paradigm' the 'Modeler' variant.
F: Welches Tool ist Empfehlenswert um die Grafik zum MDM zu modellieren?
A: Lutz verwendet Visual Paradigm. Die "Modeler" Variante reicht aus. (yQ wird sich diese anschaffen)
Do you agree with that @ag737 and @hschmidthh? Because me not modeling, I'm going with the majority.

I currently have no preference. We usually use "Enterprise Architect" for modeling, but I have to clarify whether we can also buy a version of Visual Paradigm.

There is a visual paradigm community edition, which is for non-commercial use. Maybe @lashauer knows if we are able/allowed to use this version for our purposes/project.

Any objections towards the given suggestion, @hschmidthh?

How is the testing going? Do you like Visual Paradigm @hschmidthh?

@lutz @josef and recently @hansjörg by provide his UML class diagram, agreed on using Visual Paradigm.
