:O I broke something serious here!
However I tried and it works for me, maybe it is broken only for some Shugenja School. Can you tell me the Clan, the Family and the School that give you this issue?

He is correct, the Isawa Shugenja school does not allow for spell selection. I tried the other shugenja schools to make sure there were no other issues and the others seem to be fine.

this (upper right button for advancement non-responsive) seems to happen randomly with Shugenja learning spells as well as for selecting affinity (Isawa and Chuda) and sometimes even for normal rank advancement with bushi. It seems to be related either to a certain number of times the button has been used or how long the program has been running...

I have only been able to reliably reproduce this with Isawa and Chuda Shugenja who after selecting affinity cannot "learn spells".

However there is a fix:

1. Save the character
2. close the program
3. restart the program and open the character
4. now you everything works fine

I had the same problem trying to select an affinity for an Isawa shugenja; nothing happened when I clicked the button.  Saving, closing, and restarting fixed it.  (v.2.3, Windows Vista)
