Presumably you think this is a bug in our code rather than a bug in Safari? Is there some particular reason why you think that?

As an additional data point it seems that Chrome agrees with Firefox.

And Safari Version 17.1 (19616.2.9.11.7) on macOS 14.1.1 (23B81) agrees with Safari on iOS :)
I'll try to find a way to submit this issue to Apple.
