OrbStack (0.3.0) UI body is blank for a few minutes about orbstack HOT 6 CLOSED

Fixed for the next version, thanks for the detailed reproduction steps! This appears to be caused by a SwiftUI bug, but I've worked around it by expanding the sidebar on launch.

Odd, thanks for reporting. It looks like you didn't have a tab selected. Was the sidebar collapsed by default? You can use the button in the top-left corner to expand the sidebar and choose a tab from there.

Also, is this your first time using OrbStack? If so, did you go through the “Welcome to Orbstack” onboarding?

I've been using OrbStack for about a week. I just upgraded it from 0.2.1 to 0.3.0 this morning.

Was the sidebar collapsed by default?

No, I had collapsed it a few days ago.

Got it. Did you try manually expanding the sidebar or was the app frozen?

To be clear, the UI started showing "Docker" in the title and my containers after a few minutes.

When the body was blank, the app wasn't frozen. I could toggle the on/off button, and the logs (tail -f ~/.orbstack/log/console.log) would update as you'd expect.

I didn't think to try toggling the sidebar, but I imagine it would have worked.

1. ⌘ Q close OrbStack.
2. Open OrbStack.
3. Observe the blank screen
4. Click on anything but the sidebar toggle.
5. Click on the sidebar toggle.
6. Observe everything looking spiffy.
