That's weird. I was able to reproduce this in a Debian bullseye armv7 container. I'll see what I can do to work around it.
As for unit tests, the CI runs the generic, non-kernel tests in Packit, but it currently only runs the kernel tests on x86-64. I plan to fix that eventually. In the meantime, I've been running them manually on other architectures before cutting a release.
IIRC, Arm32 doesn't support /proc/kcore
, right? The tests depend on that, so that's going to be tricky.

Indeed, it seems that CONFIG_PROC_KCORE can't be selected on ARM.
Would it be possible a priori to cook something similar using /dev/mem
and loading the debug info from the vmlinux ?
