This is definitely a question that Phil needs to weigh in on (@web2wire ). I know we have an H264Relay class in Encoders and also RawH264Input in Providers but VideoEncoder in the consumer group does re-encode. I've not tested any of these interfaces. Phil?
With respect to would it be useful if not present? Absolutely.
(FYI, Phil is the video guru who did most of the core work of the framework)
