The purpose of the library is to visualize data, not to track data. That's why the tracking option in heatmap.js is very simple and might not work for everything, in fact I wouldn't recommend using it. To collect the data it's better to use/write another library (if I have enough time someday I'll probably release one so people can connect the tracking library with heatmap.js - if you decided to write one I'd love to hear about it
