Week 1: Instagram Viewer
👍 thank you for your submission. The goal of this homework was to teach you RelativeLayout
, ListView
, networking with APIs, and loading remote images. These concepts are the foundation of nearly every app.
The app looks fine. However, it's still simple
A few notes after checking out the code:
- Good layout, proper view naming, usage of sp/dp, margin and relative placement rules
- Good to see you playing around with RelativeLayout, it's very popular and powerful
- You could consider overriding onFailure method to handle network failures appropriately.
- You consider using the ViewHolder pattern to improve performance of photos ListView.
- Consider adding pull to refresh for the photos listview using the SwipeRefreshLayout
- To reduce extra code, consider using the ButterKnife library annotations for declaring handles to view objects.
- There are many optional tasks which could be done easily. We have a tutorial session on Sunday, come with us
You can read a detailed Project 1 Feedback Guide here which covers the most common points we see for this project, if you'd like to evaluate yourself further.
