That makes no sense. clear() clears the cache, which is not what I want to do at all.

if I use reset I've the following error
The backend application (process 8870) did not send a valid HTTP response; instead, it sent nothing at all. It is possible that it has crashed; please check whether there are crashing bugs in this application.

Rails.cache is nil. Perhaps the logic should be "if fork && Rails.cache"
