What computer and OS are you using? There seems to be a problem with the PulseAudio connection from JavaSound. This is below the level of JSyn.
This might point to a way to disable PulseAudio.

By the way, you also need to call "out.start()" before you sleep so that the flow graph will get executed.

I am on a Dell Latitude running Ubuntu 18.04. I don't understand what the first link you are pointing me to aims to do, but I will try some things and get back to you. out.start()

Switching from PulseAudio to Sun's audio worked great! I just wish that there was a way for JSyn to natively do this without the user needing to change Java's properties.

The problem is with PulseAudio. If JSyn interfered with the Java properties then people who wanted to use PulseAudio would have trouble.
