2 Issues:

1 - The format
2 - phpwebgallery.net bandwidth

1 - Can be solved, I didn't think on How, but ...
2 - Is the main problem we could have.

Must be defined.
For example http://phpwebgallery.net/admin_news.php, witch send a low HTML information code.

WordPress or Piwik have the same feature. A WordPress install fetch last "blog posts" by RSS feed.

If we're afraid about bandwidth (I don't) we can use a feedburner proxy.

as piwigo.com, display information: would need rework of the frst admin page to be more like a dashboard
