Does this happen when you call server.destroyServer()? The azure shutdown and destroy process is pretty fussy on the order of destroying things. Each step in the code is supposed to wait until the previous item is destroyed.

@stammen yeah, it happens when we call destroyServer()
, but I saw it in the management portal too. I deleted a virtual machine but was unable to delete the disk until some time later (it was still visible as associated to this VM).
