Hey,
as I state in the readme file this library makes use of iOS newest features - namely the ViewController-Containment. These features are not available prior to iOS 5.0.
The @autoreleasepool code style is also new and came along ARC. Though this project doesn't use ARC some of the new syntax did infact spill over to the regular syntax. I.e. if you create a new iOS project in Xcode 4.x and disable ARC,...that's the codestyle you end up with.
