Changing the current locale of my OS from "en_NG" to "en_US" for both language and keyboard solved the issue.
The error was from xkbcommon library libxkbcommon; no default support for "en_NG" locale
xkbcommon is a library for the handling of keyboard descriptions, including loading them from disk, parsing them and handling their state. It's mainly meant for client toolkits, window systems, and other system applications.
