After going through source code, I found out that both problems are in pm4py/visualization/petri_net/common/visualize.py file within graphviz_visualization function.

The problem with label in decorations is due to the fact, that resize happens in the body of this if:

                # This code is from pm4py-core master branch
                if p in decorations and "color" in decorations[p] and "label" in decorations[p]:

Changing it to:

                if p in decorations and "label" in decorations[p]:

fixes the problem.

The problem with label produced by initial marking is that resize never happens (shape is always circle):

                # This code is from pm4py-core master branch
                viz.node(str(id(p)), str(initial_marking[p]), fontsize="34", fixedsize='true', shape="circle", width='0.75', style="filled", fillcolor=fillcolor)

Changing it to:

                marking_label = str(initial_marking[p])
                if len(marking_label) >= 3:
                    viz.node(str(id(p)), marking_label, fontsize="34",  shape="ellipse", style="filled", fillcolor=fillcolor)
                else:
                    viz.node(str(id(p)), marking_label, fontsize="34", fixedsize='true', shape="circle", width='0.75', style="filled", fillcolor=fillcolor)
