I have seen this effect with multiple resize observers and measurement tools, it's weird. Maybe we can figure this out so that it doesn't do this even if the viewport doesn't have explicit bounds.

@ryanking1809 @tiernemi i think i found out what the issue is with the resize observer pushing bounds. apparantly some elements, like canvas, have a magic 4px gap that's neither margin or padding: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/8600393/there-is-a-4px-gap-below-canvas-video-audio-elements-in-html5 this is what causes an infinite loop, because the observer detects, say, 100px height, sets the canvas, but browser magic books it as 104px, which triggers the observer again. Setting these objects to display: block fixes it.
