Profile error - NW.js about popcorn-desktop HOT 3 CLOSED

It just means you have a newer nwjs profile from a previous version and you've opened an older nwjs version on your system ... such as 0.44.5 ? You've kept your old data/support folders instead of making it a clean install.

Won't do any harm .. I've never noticed anything amiss on a Mac if I used the older nwjs vesrsions alongside the newer?

Very few! last mention .. Especially when it's been explained (to them) that they have reverted back to a release using an older nwjs version (whilst retaining the previous support files/folders?). After 9+ yrs .. it's just part of the scenery!

If you say that's it's not link with Popcorn Time, and it's not gonna happen anywhere for anybody, that will be fine.

I can say: that it can happen to anyone who uses any application created with nwjs runtime (Chromium and node.js). You can complain on their GitHub if you want (but they just blame Chromium :)
... I hope that will be fine?

If you know where your Popcorn-Time support folder resides .. I might be able to help you get rid of the notice, without deleting your support folder (losing your settings/favs). Not guaranteed as I use a Mac (w/ arm64 version) .. I don't know if the landscape is the same?

@jeey The process above that you described is missing a step. The one where you downloaded the 0.44.5 build and reverted back to the old NW.js instead of the new one like you probably did for version 0.5.0. That's why you're getting this message..

Well, I'm agree it's doesn't do any harm, everything is still functionnal as usual.

Except that, for me, there was an error during the "update" of PopCornTime. Some users can be confused by this message.
If you say that's it's not link with Popcorn Time, and it's not gonna happen anywhere for anybody, that will be fine.

I can add the process (where I don't try to do something odd) :

1. Launch Popcorn Time (previous version, no profile error)
2. see the "There is an update"
3. click on "update"
4. send to github
5. download de last popcorn version
6. install it
7. launch now version of popcorntime
8. alert message

Even if there is an explanation that I have an older profile that i would have opened etc etc (there is always a technical explanation, that's right), this is still a message that is not supposed to be here, that was not here, and, maybe it's not preventing popcorn time to function, it still there.)
(I take an exemple : if my old mother, yes, she uses Popcorn Time, sees this message, she gonna give me a phone call because something went wrong and she cannot see this show anymore. Guarante.)
