It really depends on your use case. Do you need to reprocess the entire cached set of endpoints/services/etc every 30 minutes? In the event that the shared informer loses its connection to the apiserver for the watch, it should do a full re-list, generating events for you to process.

Note for someone taking this ticket. The change is going to be pretty straight forward, a one line patch to change or disable the resync timer. But, what I want to see in this issue beforehand is some research about the cost and impact of this change.

For a bit more clarification - if you are combining state of k8s objects w/some external system, you would probably want to have a resync period > 0 so you can periodically reconcile the k8s objects' expectations with the reality of the external system. If you're only working with k8s objects, you shouldn't need a resync period > 0 .
