Hi,
I'm currently refactoring the way network detection works, it will be out in the next version of pusher-js, so fairly soon. I wasn't aware of that issue, but I wanted to stop relying on the onLine property anyway. I'll let you know when it's ready, if you'd like to have a look before the release.

Hi @nixme, can you check if 2.1.4 works as expected for you? Clients will not disconnect on an offline event anymore and connection will be still retried with growing timeouts. When an online event is emitted, the client will try reconnecting immediately, if there's no connection already.
