The computervision/score_image endpoint accepts a multipart POST request to upload an image file.
I haven't tested that out yet, but if that does work, out of courtesy to the iNat servers it may be worthwhile to downscale the image client-side (for example, using pillow), or at least set a max filesize, before uploading.

In this issue: inaturalist/iNaturalistAPI#193, kueda mentions that "The computer vision endpoints are not public because there are a number of ways we think they could be misused". Based on that, I'm going to close this issue. It can be reopened if/when those endpoints are added to the public API.
