I'm short on time to look at the example in detail, but have you tried the new consider_namespace_packages
option? Perhaps together with --import-mode=importlib
?
from pytest.
I should've mentioned that, but --import-mode=importlib
solved the problem for me. But I'm still curious if this is expected behaviour or if it should be fixed.
from pytest.
with --import-mode=prepend
(the default) yes, pytest adds directories to sys.path
in order to import the modules inside.

@nicoddemus Yes, but two questions still remains.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. But according to this doc page, src/my_ns/
should not have been added to sys.path
.
And why specificaly the option --doctest-modules
changes this behaviour looks odd to me, considering that it seems to be unrelated to the way pytest
add paths to sys.path
.
If you also consider that behaviour strange and worth looking into I'll gladly do so :)
