I found a workflow to by-pass these unwanted PP borders around an image projected by Q (the image having a different aspect ration than the projection screen has): using the 'Hide display output' (F8) button.

Steps:

  • When switching to Q, from a still running PP, first go to Q and press F8 (so Q isn't projecting). At this point the PP still is being projected.
  • Then Go Live with the cat image. The cat isn't shown yet however, because of the still pressed 'Hide display output' button.
  • Then de-press 'Hide display output' (F8 again), to release the cat onto the projection screen.
  • Left/right borders are black now, as wanted.
