Hey jtoy - It would pretty easy to mock redis in your tests and be able to create statues/jobs etc in memory instead of in Redis. I think I would leave this up to you and your test suite, though, because it would probably be different for each test framework and I dont really have interest in supporting many versions of a test harness. You should also check out the test suite of this repository as an example of booting redis as part of the test suite (stolen mostly from resque itself)

Can a Job be run from the console for "immediate" feedback and to see if it works? I didn't need unit tests, but actually running it from the console. In regular resque you can run the jobs straight from the command line, but you can't really do that with the current way resque-status is setup.

You should be able to just do

 MyJob.perform('uuid', {options: .. })

where MyJob < Resque::JobWithStatus
