You can install Visual Studio (Community Edition is free for personal use) and build a release yourself. Alternatively, here's a release I built from the source :)

If you don't trust me just download the source code and build it yourself

Yeah the software actually doesn't work :( I'm gonna look over it later and if I find a fix make a PR, though I doubt it'd be approved

it is an exe indeed. when run it opens CMD and removes all backgrounds and replayses it with a grey one. (the one rrtyui used).

Haven’t touched this in ages, but the last time I used it, it worked. There are some issues with animated backgrounds though. Make sure you have permissions to read/write in the beatmaps folder.
It’s also possible there’s been a change in beatmap format that makes finding the image file not work. Unlikely, but possible

When i run the program and i click apply to change background nothing happens(i chose my D:/games/osu) my standart drive. And i do run the program as admin.

Update: when placing the program inside the osu folder and running it there it seems the progress loads .
i get the message completed 512 succeded 0. idk why just wanted to update
from osu-replace.
this is what happens right now. and inside osu all backgrounds are changed to the osu one no change at all

It seems like the original image is deprecated but the new image file is not added in. I also cannot restore the original background images now.

Yes. I have discovered the symbolic link call is failing for some reason. I will see if I can provide and update
from osu-replace.
Was able to test and confirm it still worked as expected when running as admin. I've pushed an update that fixes reverting replacements and will not replace the background if for some reason the symlink can't be created.
