Do you have a live example of this? What happens if you change .bind()
to .live()
, as in:
jQuery(function($) {
$("#deactivate")
.live("ajax:success", function() {
alert("HELLO");
})
.live("ajax:error", function() {
alert("GOODBYE");
}
);
});
from jquery-rails.
Changing it from .live from .bind shows the same behavior.

If you had a live example, that would help. This is well-tested functionality, so there must be something very odd going on.

Also, I didn't realize this was being posted under the jquery-rails project until just now. If you are still having problems, could you repost this under the jquery-ujs project?

This ended up being an issue with an older version of jQuery being embedded in jQuery Tools. So if anyone else has this issue make sure jQuery isn't being included multiple times.

I still have this problem with version 1.0.12, I think we should re-open the bug
from jquery-rails.
The problem described here was never an issue with jquery-rails or jquery-ujs, it was just a conflict with another library, and the fact that an older version (1.4) of jquery was being used. If you're having similar problems, please feel free to open a new ticket over in the jquery-ujs issues.
