I have to use a lenovo laptop with strange layout for some "advanced" keys and a standard external keyboard, with a normal layout. Unfortunately I think it would be quite difficult, as the registry entry requires a new login to make changes active if I'm right. Maybe it is possible to overtake the registry changes without relogin?
