Both https://github.com/Reactive-Extensions/RxPy and https://rxpy.codeplex.com/ are outdated clones that haven't been updated for over a year. I have given up trying to keep all repos in sync, and will only continue development on my private repo.
Isn't now a good opportunity to move yours under ReactiveX/RxPY
? Note that it doesn't currently exist, but Reactive-Extensions/RxPY
does.
IMHO a private repo will bring confusion, and we should try to fix this in the best possible way.

The problem with both Reactive-Extensions/RxPY
(MS Rx Team) and rxpy.codeplex
(MS Open Tech) is that even though I work at MS, I don't have permission to maintain my own project, accept pull requests, close issues etc. Thus nobody cares, and the repos don't get updated. Who is behind github/ReactiveX
, and how would it be different?
from reactivex.github.io.
ReactiveX is, as far as I know, a collaboration between @benjchristensen and @headinthebox. I don't think there is a direct dependency on Microsoft as an organization.

Could be interested if I would get write access to the project so I could manage it, merge pull requests handle issues etc. Otherwise it would just end up as yet another outdated repository.
from reactivex.github.io.
Would be great if you could; we want this tyo be the umbrella for all Rx implementations.

@dbrattli Yes you'd have full privileges on your repo and the ability to grant privileges to whoever you want.
You can either move your repo into ReactiveX so the stars/wiki/issues/etc all come with it. Or if you want to start from scratch I can create the repo and grant you all privileges on it so you can do with it as you wish. Let me know if you want to do one of these.

No there isn't. It is completely independent.

Ok, I'll try to transfer it to keep the all the stargazers

@benjchristensen Got You don't have admin rights to ReactiveX
. Looks like I would need temporary admin rights at ReactiveX to transfer it, or I would have to transfer it to someone who has admin rights, which can then transfer it to ReactiveX. What do we do?
from reactivex.github.io.
I tried to add you to the team a few minutes ago.
from reactivex.github.io.
Yes, I'm now member with write access to repos, but I'm still not allowed to transfer my repo to ReactiveX.
"Only users with admin or owner access to an organization's repository can transfer the repository out of the organization. On the other end, the person transferring the repository also needs to have admin rights in the receiving organization"
https://help.github.com/articles/how-to-transfer-a-repository
from reactivex.github.io.
Try now. I have given you temporary full admin rights for the ReactiveX org.
from reactivex.github.io.
RxPY has now been transferred to ReactiveX, so you can now lower my rights. Should we create a committers group for RxPY?
from reactivex.github.io.
I have created 2 groups for RxPy: Owner and Committers. You are the only member of Owners and should be able to add people to the RxPy Committers group.
from reactivex.github.io.
Nice. Feels good to be part of the team. I will shortly be fixing the RxPY docs and PyPI to reflect the move. Almost forgot, we still need to update the links, but I can probably do it myself now.

I just did that @dbrattli and a PR is coming soon.
