I think the best option is to reimplement the delegate... waiting for the MS team to fix the issue will probably take longer...

I haven't tested to see how pervasive this issue is. For instance, if this also affects controls with EventHandler<T> declarations.
UPDATE:
I just double checked using NavigationGridView and EventHandler<T> doesn't have the same issues. So this is looking like a good choice, especially since it is being used in many places already.
Doing a review of the source, it looks like the only two that should be an issue are MtPivot and DataGrid. I will try to get a pull request in.
