This is the current alert email on the wnm.be IAS system
So I would include the following in the pop up:
- species
- date
- validation status
- a (mini)link to the record in the database where people can check everything (e.g. the photo, the observer etc.)
I think validator is not necessary. Also, would it be an idea to visualize coordinate uncertainty on the map (e.g. perimeter in different colour when zoomed in), that way it doesn't need to show in the pop-up?
from gbif-alert.
Thanks @timadriaens, I mainly agree with your ideas. Let's take an example, an observation of Japanese knotweed in Belgium, occ ID 3043849498 and its related API infos
- date (
eventDate
:2021-01-13T00:00:00
, however I would remove the time component,T00:00:00
): it seems the time of the obs is not (always) present and it is also not relevant - link to the original record (field
references
: https://waarnemingen.be/observation/205622389/), if it's missing, then the link to the obs on GBIF (or maybe both?) - validation status (field
identificationVerificationStatus
:unverified
)
Observer is in the original record page, I agree, not needed to show it on pop up.
About coordinate uncertainty on the map: yes, I was also thinking about it, but at the same doubtful in cases where the uncertainty is very high.
@niconoe, @timadriaens: I would add the number of individuals observed, field individualCount
: 10
from gbif-alert.
yes, that is a good idea, include the degree of infestation
from gbif-alert.
I think we can close this issue. We don't have pop-ups, but dedicated pages.
More or less all info's specified here are currently included in the observation page.
