As long as you are appending items and not prepending, it should be relatively easy to get the last item loaded:- look at the number of cards in each column and pick the last card from the column with the most cards. In case there are multiple columns with the maximum number of cards pick the card from the right most column.
This is will work for now, but won't work once the column lengths are more 'balanced'.

Yes, this is what I'm doing but I would like a solution provided by the library. Maybe a solution more universal (and that work when the balanced columns is implemented) is a method that return all elements of the grid in the original order. For example:

var elements = salvattore['get_elements'](grid);
var $lastElement = $(elements).last();
