The app puts the device in "Car Mode" but it appears that different devices and
OEM skins respond differently to this. I suppose I would need a car mode app
launcher to go along with it to cover those cases. I really wish OEM's would
stop skinning Android. It causes issues, like this one.

I pushed a update to 2.11.12 that changed the car_mode so it should also launch
the car_mode UI if one exists. I tested this on CM11 but there did not appear
to be a stock car mode UI. I found one on the play store and installed it
(just a simple car mode home screen). Now when the connection happens it not
only enters car mode but also changes the UI using this downloaded car mode UI.
Try it and let me know how it goes.

Sorry that it took me a few days to reply. I didn't realize that i needed to
register as a tester.
The fix works! Thanks!
(On a different topic, I noticed that Pandora App doesn't shut down despite the
fact that "close app on disconnect" is selected; however, I wasn't sure if you
were supporting that functionality anymore.)

Great. Thanks for testing. I will close this issue.
Killing other apps is actually considered taboo. I still do it based on the
users requesting it. However, there is not really a simple way to do this in
Android. Most would consider my work arounds borderline hacking. Still strong
demand makes me do it. Pandora behaves badly in many ways. They do not want
any outside control of what happens in Pandora since that means the user does
not need to read all the ads. They put a bunch of tricks into their app to
prevent this. I gave up on Pandora. The close app works on just about
everything but Pandora. I switched to Google Play Music long ago and never
looked back. Play Music has "instant mixes" which work fantastic for driving.
They also offer ad free streaming service which has no ads (for a fee). Play
music integrates well with my app and actually works. You can also voice
command music to play (and they finally got this working well).

Yes. I had read your recommendations on Google Play Music and looked into it.
Unfortunately, its not really an option as a free (ad-supported) streaming
music service like Pandora, but I'll give Spotify try instead.
Thanks again!!
