Ok, in the issue I posted @dpasdar tried to achieve the same feature. I don't know if he found a way to achieve it, maybe you can contact him.

Otherwise the example i posted, shows you a way to implement custom fields, like you are trying to do. You should probably be able to adapt the code from the google groups without goog.

I am not sure if you can use goog in angular environments and cannot help you on this part.
