There has already been some discussion on the user list about this. The bottom line is that this needs to be implemented in the upstream hterm project; once (and if) it is, it will work in Mosh for Chrome.
Feel free to reopen this issue once it is in hterm, and I'll cut a new release.

Apparently, the way hterm implements url selection is by double-clicking, which selects the url and copies it to the clipboard.
See https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=209181#c9 (upstream bug)
Having double-clicking open the url instead of simply copying it might be a good way to implement this feature.

I am nervous about overloading the double-click action of highlighting an auto-selected range. Sometimes I want it to go into the clipboard, and other times I want it to open directly. I think a context menu is the best way to do it.
Nonetheless, this is still an upstream issue. I am trying very hard to avoid maintaining patches against upstream dependencies.

Sorry for the dupe. Anyhow, any progress on this since June 2014? :)

That issue is closed because this is an upstream issue with hterm. Check with hterm to see if any progress has been made. Feel free to reopen #117 if hterm commits a change which enables this, and I'll rebuild the app with the new hterm..
