After upgrading to the last version 0.0.59 also getting this error. Seems to keep on working, but in the terminal window you do not see a log of performed actions.

Just did some extra research, the message means that the port is already occupied by a program. So Homebridge is already running. With the command
systemctl status homebridge
you can retrieve the process number and with
kill ####
(####= process numer)
you can kill the process. When you start homebridge again it should be working. If you leave the terminal window open you can see the log output.
