You're right; it really ought to have a "make uninstall" option.
Anyway, installed files end up only in two places: If you used the default prefix, then it's /usr/local/lib/magic, and the executable is installed as /usr/local/bin/magic. If you rebuild/reinstall, then the executable is going to get overwritten, so you really only need to delete everything in the path /usr/local/lib/magic/.

OK! Knowing this, it is simple to clean the installed files and it is also possible to create an uninstall Makefile rule.
