sinatra and activerecord dependencies about markdown HOT 4 CLOSED

They should only be needed if you use the markdown service (otherwise the require might be misplaced). Are you using the markdown HTTP JSON service? or just the Markdown wrapper?

Look to what I've done:

irb
require 'markdown'

stack trace... require cannot load such file active_record ...

So I installed activerecord, then:

markdown server

So I noticed that I would need Sinatra to run the server.

FYI: I've split up the markdown gem into three gems - that is, markdown, markdown-service, markdown-tools. The "core" markdown gem should no longer require activerecord, sinatra, etc. Thanks again for reporting the issue. Cheers.
