HISTORY glibc 2.16.
From getauxval(3) - Library Functions Manual
armv7-unknown-linux-gnueabihf | ARMv7-A Linux, hardfloat (kernel 3.2, glibc 2.17)
From rustc
Tier 2 with Host Tools
It seems like the minimum required glibc version for the target is 2.17 and getauxval
was added on glibc 2.16, so this seems to be alright.
I couldn't find the glibc version of linaro-1.13.1-4.7
, could you check the version and verify at it is at least 2.17.

@dgehriger I am closing this issue, as we do not intend to change this, but feel free to link me to the issue tracker of anyone you want me to... personally motivate into releasing new software, or updating their links to software for the case of e.g. old demos/tutorials.

glibc 2.17 is from 2012 (well, December, so we can round up to 2013). the PR in question only landed in this year, well after we raised our glibc requirement to 2.17. the Linaro toolchain in question was issued in 2018, and supported Ubuntu 10! if you want to use such an old toolchain, you should use an older rustc. the last rustc version that promised compatibility with your toolchain was rust 1.63, and rust 1.64 raised it.
