I have tested it with some simple configs, and it works well. ❤️ It would be better if the config was validated before applying it.
And I hava a dumb question. Will it also clear DNS cache?

How about print some logs to indicate the config is wrong and keep the service running with previous correct config? I tried nginx and haproxy, they seems to follow this behavior.
