@liquid actually it is possible to use sendmail with the current image. the thing is not documented yet. It is something that i was supposed to configure into an advanced configuration guide.
The image already has most of the components such that you can bend the installation as per your needs. Here is a short form of the advanced configuration guide.
- Download https://github.com/sameersbn/docker-gitlab/raw/master/config.tar.bz2
- Create the folder structure config/gitlabhq in the data directory (/opt/gitlab/data/config/gitlabhq)
- Copy file config/gitlabhq/smtp_settings.rb from the downloaded tarball to /opt/gitlab/data/config/gitlabhq/smtp_settings.rb
- Edit /opt/gitlab/data/config/gitlabhq/smtp_settings.rb as per your requirements
- Run the image as you would normally do.
This way you can override the configuration that is automatically created.
Hopefully this is all that you would require.
