This is an error in the docs (and will be fixed soon).
The right solution for your problem would be:
- Configure rsyslog as a server by using
rsyslog::server
- Configure rsyslog as a client by using
rsyslog::client
This should result in a configuration, where the system operates as a syslog server for other systems and (as long as there is a rule for it) forwards all received messages. *.* @@next-syslog-server
I don't think, that there is any change required to get this setup working, but I'll keep this issue open until you're able to confirm, if it's working or not. If it's not working, please paste the puppet part and the rsyslog config files, which are generated.

If it's working for you as expected, than the only problem would be the docs.
I've removed the wrong parameter right now.

thanks, there is another thing that may be i should not mention it over
here but is related again to the docs and i have not tested it, it about
the attribute "rotate" i can see it in the server.pp but not in the docs.

It would be awesome, if you're able to send a PR and I'll merge it.
To be honest, I'm quite sure, that the documentation isn't as up-to-date as it should be and I'll check this, but right now, I'm too busy to do so. But any PR will be greatly appreciated
